State of the art Radiographic equipment including digital panoramic X-rays, the new "Nano" Nomad mobile X-ray unit with digital intraoral radiography
Dr. Fourrier uses CT scans to diagnose, treatment plan and computer guide her surgeries particularly in dental implant cases.
Laser Periodontal Therapy™ is a laser-based approach to gum disease using an Nd:YAG free running pulsed laser requiring specific knowledge and skills. This means less pain, less bleeding, less swelling, less tissue removed, less down time, and less recovery time. Dr. Fourrier was the first periodontist in the state of South Carolina licensed to perform this procedure.
The reasons she uses Laser Periodontal Therapy™ are to remove only the diseased tissue without removing any of the healthy tissue, while maintaining the height of the tissue around the teeth. This minimizes pain and discomfort to the patient, while getting a closure of the periodontal pocket wound. This treats periodontal disease making it possible to save and restore otherwise hopelessly involved teeth.
Dr. Fourrier wants to provide excellent comfort and education for each and every patient while undergoing treatment in her office. There are digital monitors in each surgery operatory where the patient can view their own patient education videos, radiographs, intraoral photographs, CT scans while listening to Sirus Radio, watching television or movies of their choice.
Dr. Fourrrier offers 3 different options of sedations:
Several medications that have been used worldwide for years are now used in dentistry in pill form to relieve anxiety, fear, dental sensitivity and severe gagging
N2O2 better known as "laughing gas" has been used in dentistry for years to relieve anxiety and pain while a patient is undergoing dental procedures.
This method of sedation is a conscious sedation that is very safe and allows for a much deeper sedation for those patients requiring this service. It is provided by a certified nurse anesthetist in our office, while the patient is fully monitored throughout the procedure.
